bookmarks * Spotlight Poppies Card Kit

Hello and welcome to a sneak peek of our upcoming Spotlight Poppies Card Kit.

I made a little mothers day present for my mom. She loves reading and flowers, so this was perfect.

I stamped the background with Distress Oxide Ink on some watercolor paper. Then, I spritzed some water on my panel so that the ink started to move. You get an artsy watercolor look for your background this way. I like this technique a lot. It's quick and easy but looks so pretty. I die cut the bookmarks from my panel and set them aside.

For my poppies, I stamped them in water-resistant ink and colored them with watercolor markers. I cut them out using the coordinating dies and adhered them on my bookmarks. One Flower is cut in half, so it looks like there are three flowers on the bookmark. I did not use foam tape for this project, so that the bookmarks lie flat in the book.

This Card Kit will be available next Tuesday, May 21st 2019. For more information, check out the MFT blog!

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole

wildflowers * MFT Sketch Challenge 437

Welcome to a new Sketch Challenge by My Favorite Things.

Today, I have a soft watercolor flower card for you.

I stamped the flowers and the leaves in black water resistant ink and colored them with watercolor markers using a mix of pink and purple for the petals. The light blue background is made with Distress Oxide ink and a blending tool.

I wanted to add some interest to it and the wonky stitched rectangle die was just perfect. The sentiment is stamped on heavyweight translucent vellum using a clear sticky ink and white embossing powder. To finish up my card, I added a sweet little bee and some sequins.

Check out the MFT blog for more information and inspiration! We love to see what you come up with!
